01Agreeing to these terms
“Aura”, “we” and “us” mean Ozar Tech Corp., the company behind Aura: Migraine Tracker. By downloading or using the app, or using this website, you agree to these terms and to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”). Where these terms and the Standard EULA differ, these terms apply to the extent the Standard EULA allows.
How we handle information is covered separately in our Privacy Policy. In short: Aura doesn’t collect your data.
02Not medical advice
If a headache is sudden and severe, the worst of your life, arrives like a thunderclap, or comes with fever, a stiff neck, confusion, weakness, trouble speaking or a seizure, it is an emergency. Don’t open a diary app — call your local emergency number now.
Aura is a diary. It is not a medical device, it does not diagnose any condition, and it does not recommend, start, stop or adjust any treatment. Nothing in the app or on this website is medical advice.
Aura compares your own records with published criteria — such as the ICHD-3 thresholds for medication overuse (§8.2), the 15-day threshold for chronic migraine and the 4-to-72-hour attack window — and shows where your diary sits against them. Those figures are only as accurate as what you record, and only a qualified clinician can interpret them for you.
Comparisons with sleep, barometric pressure or cycle timing describe associations in your own diary, with their uncertainty. They are not causes and they are not predictions. Don’t change your medicines, or ignore symptoms, because of something Aura shows you — talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
03Your licence to use Aura
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Aura on Apple devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial purposes, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the App Store Terms of Service.
Clinicians are welcome to recommend Aura and to read the reports patients share with them. Please don’t resell, rent or redistribute the app.
04Your data and backups
Everything you record belongs to you. Because Aura has no account and no server, your diary exists only on your device (and in any backups or exports you make). That has one important consequence:
We can’t recover a lost diary. If your iPhone is lost, reset or replaced without a backup, or you erase Aura’s data, it is gone. Keep your iPhone backed up, and export a CSV from the Report tab from time to time.
You’re responsible for the reports and files you choose to share, and for who you share them with.
05Using Aura responsibly
Please don’t:
- copy, modify, reverse-engineer or create derivative works of the app, except where the law allows it despite this restriction;
- use Aura to break any law, or in a way that could harm the app, this website or other people;
- present Aura’s reports as a clinical assessment, or remove the notes that explain how their figures were produced.
06Apple services
Some features depend on services provided by Apple — Apple Health, WeatherKit, Siri, widgets, Live Activities and notifications. Your use of them is also governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policy. We don’t control those services and can’t guarantee they’ll always be available or work the same way.
Weather data is provided by Apple Weather. Forecasts and pressure readings can be inaccurate or unavailable in some places; a pressure alert is a heads-up, not a forecast of an attack.
07Price
Aura is free, with no subscription and no in-app purchases. If we ever offer paid features, they’ll be clearly marked in the App Store, and exporting and deleting your own records will stay free.
08Ownership
The app, its design, the Aura name and icon, and this website are ours and protected by intellectual-property laws. These terms don’t give you any right to use our name or branding.
Your diary entries, notes and exports are yours. We don’t claim any rights over them — and we never receive them.
09Terms required by Apple
Because Aura is distributed through the App Store, you and we both acknowledge that:
- These terms are between you and us only, not with Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for Aura and its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for Aura.
- If Aura fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price paid (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to Aura.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to Aura or your use of it, including product-liability claims, claims that it fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer-protection, privacy or similar laws.
- If a third party claims that Aura or your use of it infringes their intellectual-property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as “terrorist supporting”, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and on your acceptance of them, Apple will have the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
10No warranty
We work hard to make Aura careful and correct, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties — express or implied — that Aura will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, or that its figures will be accurate for your circumstances.
11Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from your use of Aura or this website — including decisions made on the basis of what Aura shows. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app, which is zero.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that can’t legally be excluded or limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the laws of the country where you live.
12Stopping use
You can stop using Aura at any time by deleting it. Before you do, export anything you want to keep, and consider erasing Aura’s entries from Apple Health — see Deleting your data.
If you break these terms, your licence to use Aura ends automatically. Sections 2, 4, 8, 10 and 11 continue to apply after that.
13Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app changes. We’ll change the effective date at the top of this page and mention meaningful changes in the app’s release notes. If you keep using Aura after a change takes effect, the new terms apply. If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.
